The DCB-CX interconnection platform expands connectivity options for businesses across the Southeast

ATLANTA – February 23, 2022 – DC BLOX, a leading provider of secure, reliable data centers across the Southeast, announces it has expanded and enhanced its connectivity capabilities through the introduction of the DC BLOX Connectivity eXchange (DCB-CX). The DCB-CX is an interconnection platform that enables participants anywhere within the DC BLOX connectivity ecosystem to peer across a high-bandwidth, low-latency software-defined fabric. The DCB-CX was created to address the need for agile, efficient, and resilient connectivity in underserved markets across the Southeast. With the DC BLOX Connectivity eXchange, organizations in the region are no longer constrained by legacy networks, limited local service provider options, or having to colocate in out-of-state Internet Exchanges.

The DCB-CX offers low-latency, resilient connectivity across its footprint enabling virtual connections to built-in carriers, public cloud providers, regional Internet Exchanges (Atlanta, Montgomery and Nashville), and participating entities. Every DC BLOX data center serves as an Exchange Point on the eXchange enabling carriers, ISPs, content delivery networks, hyperscale cloud providers, research institutions, local governments, rural broadband providers, and enterprises to privately peer with partners and providers locally, regionally and globally.

The DCB-CX has also recently expanded its reach with the addition of DC BLOX’s newest data center in Greenville, SC. Greenville joins other DC BLOX data centers on the eXchange in Atlanta, Birmingham, Chattanooga, Huntsville, and High Point/Greensboro North Carolina in the future.

“The DC BLOX Connectivity eXchange is more than just an Internet Exchange (IX), it is a distributed IX,” comments Jeff Wabik, Chief Strategy and Connectivity Officer at DC BLOX. “With less than 5ms of latency between any two points on the network, the Connectivity eXchange essentially creates a single virtual data center stretched across the Southeastern US.”

“Our goal is to not only provide our customers with secure, reliable data center services, but to become the de facto data exchanges in all of our markets,” states Jeff Uphues, CEO of DC BLOX. “Our data centers and the Connectivity eXchange empower growing communities across the Southeast with foundational digital infrastructure enabling local enterprises, research institutions and governments to thrive in the digital economy.”

DC BLOX owns and operates interconnected multi-tenant data centers that deliver the infrastructure and connectivity essential to power today’s digital business. DC BLOX’s colocation facilities, robust connectivity ecosystem, dark fiber solutions, and hyperscale-ready data centers provide the digital infrastructure necessary to enable the rapid growth of the Southeast’s digital economy. DC BLOX’s data centers are located in Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Huntsville, AL; Chattanooga, TN; Greenville, SC, Myrtle Beach, SC, with several others in development.
